In a press conference this afternoon, Public Communications Secretary, Alfredo Scoccimarro, announced a series of changes in the cabinet.
Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich will leave his position and will be replaced by current Secretary General for the Presidency Aníbal Fernández, who was Cabinet Chief between July 2009 and December 2011.
Capitanich, who is on special leave from his position as governor of Chaco, did not specify whether he will go back to his province, but suggested that he “would love to be mayor of Resistencia” (Chaco’s capital).
Fernández, who was appointed Secretary General for the Presidency last December, will be replaced by deputy Eduardo ‘Wado’ De Pedro, from the Peronist youth organisation La Cámpora.
Health Minister Juan Manzur, who is likely to run for governor of Tucumán in the October election, will also leave his post, which will be taken up by Daniel Gollán, former Secretary of Community Health.
The new ministers and secretaries will be sworn in today at 7pm.
